Quote of the Week

“My favorite words are possibilities, opportunities, and curiosity. I think if you are curious, you create opportunities, and then if you open the doors, you create possibilities.”

~Mario Testino

Possibilities, opportunities, and curiosity are three words that can change the way you see and do art. Here are a few different perspectives on this quote that I hope you find helpful. As an artist be willing to take chances when opportunities come your way, it can help you grow and expand your imagination as an artist. If you ever have an opportunity to collaborate with another artist consider working with them, you can learn so much from someone else who sees it differently than you do. Sometimes opportunities that will help you grow will not always be art related, for instance, you might find yourself working as a customer service agent or a waiter/waitress at a restaurant, both jobs might seem irrelevant but they are not. Both jobs require you to interact and communicate with people that need a service or product from you, and you will need to communicate in such a way that will convince them to buy your product or give you the bigger tip. One day, when you sale your art or service you will need to communicate with multiple clients who have different opinions and expectations from you, and knowing how to communicate correctly with each client will help you go further in your career. You can be an amazing artist but if you do not know how to communicate properly it can prevent you from connecting with your clients or even your followers on your social media pages.

Possibilities and curiosity go hand and hand with each other, when you become curious you can see possibilities with your art. Curiosity sparks experimentation, which can lead to an artist’s speciality. Curiosity can be a driving force for an artist it can help you fine tune your skills or it can help you reinvent the way you do your artwork. As an artist it is always good to have an imagination that can produce possibilities, which leads to creativity. Possibilities is like creating a rough draft it lays the groundwork and plans for what you want to produce. Finally, remember to be patient with yourself creating high quality art takes time, diligence, and patients.

We also want to thank Lauren + Stephen for being our handsome couple in our blog! Enjoy these photos of their wedding day.
