Get To Know The Couple
Nicole and Nico had an intimate wedding with close friends and family, and above all, they wanted their wedding simple and personal. They got married on Memorial Day weekend, which was sentimental since Nicole’s parents were married on Memorial day weekend too. Nicole’s brother officiated their wedding and it was super sweet. Nicole and Nico decided that rather doing traditional vows they high fived. Nicole and Nico originally connected online, they shared their interest in the environment and solar energy. They also love nature and outdoors but as much as they love the outdoors you cannot get away from the hot humid weather in South Carolina. So rather than doing an outdoor wedding they included greenery throughout their wedding venue to add a natural organic atmosphere to their wedding. An accent that could be overlooked, but was a thoughtful gift from Nicole’s uncle was a vintage clover leaf. The clover leaf was placed in the flower girl’s basket to add a touch of nature. Nicole’s uncle sent it to her for good luck, it was such a thoughtful and endearing gift.
The Crown Wreath
Nicole’s crown wreath was beautifully crafted by a vendor on Etsy (love Etsy there are so many cool vendors), it was purposely crafted to look like a Greek Orthodox crown. Nicole’s mother wore a crown wreath on her wedding day and Nicole wanted to add that small detail to her wedding attire. A few people at their wedding asked Nicole if she was wearing her mother’s crown, which makes me curious what her mother’s crown looked like. Again, such a small detail that could be overlooked as a trendsetter, but it was a sentimental accent. The Greek Orthodox Church has a tradition where both the bride and groom are crowned with wreaths and they exchange it three times to seal their union. However, they decided to not do that for their wedding, but they used her crown as symbolism for both her mother and religion.
Nicole and Nico had many personal touches that made their wedding warm and intimate. We wish you both the very best!
